If you’ve ever had any type of mint chocolate candy, cookie, or ice cream you know full well what a delight it can be. The combination of mint and chocolate is a classic in its own right.
Any type of milk will do
Feel free to use any type of milk alternative here…oat milk would be an extra rich and creamy option as well, especially combined with a little coconut milk or cream. Also, it seems that more and more heavy cream alternatives are now found on grocery shelves and these make a great substitute for traditional heavy creams.
Have fun with the toppings
The toppings are probably the most fun part here. I absolutely love the Andes Peppermint Crunch candies you see pictured above. I look forward to eating them in mass quantities every year around the holidays. All I did was crush them up a bit and sprinkle them on top. Additionally, I whipped some fresh cream with a little powdered sugar and adorned the hot chocolate with this as well.

½ tsp peppermint extract
2 cups almond milk
½ cup heavy cream
2 tbsp powdered sugar
- Prepare toppings by whipping cream (add powdered sugar) and chopping candies.
- Melt white chocolate chips over double boiler, add peppermint extract.
- Whisk in a bit of milk to remove chocolate from bowl.
- Transfer mixture to a saucepan and add remaining milk.
- Heat and Enjoy!
