Rock Steady

This is probably the first time I’ve ventured to a relatively new restaurant, most of the places I’ve been to have been around for quite some time already. I could not be happier with my recent decision to choose Rock Steady as my dinner destination. They made their debut into Atlanta’s restaurant scene serving a selection of unique “Afro-Caribbean” cuisine. Let me tell you, Rock Steady has made quite the entrance in my eyes.

First off, I immediately fell in love with the vibe of the place and the food was absolutely scrumptious. I mean, they had some really spectacular combinations. I’m already a fan of oxtail in the way it’s traditionally made but they combined theirs with pappardelle pasta and a fusion of other flavors. I’m still thinking about this dish and I’m actually in the process of creating my own version as we speak!

The night started off with an appetizer consisting of “Haitian Griot & Pikliz. This tasty delicacy is described on the menu as crispy pork shoulder with a spicy cabbage slaw….absolutely delicious, like, I could not stop eating it.

The entrees were delectable in their own right. Following the appetizer I sampled the Oxtail Pappardelle and Red Stripe Jerk Shrimp. This meal was made complete with coconut rice & peas, collard greens, jerk sauce, and sweet plantains.

I seriously cannot get over this place; currently planning my next escape to Rock Steady.
