Los Angeles-Dominique Ansel

I dreamed of visiting this bakery for THE longest time, it gives me goosebumps every time I think of it. I had no idea there was a location in L.A. until I planned my trip recently. When I found out, I was ecstatic!!! I made the journey there on my second to last day.  My hopes were set high mainly because I was desperate to try the Cronut (he invented this). I’ve had my fair share of Cronut like doughnuts but this was an opportunity to try the original. Not only was the bakery stunning, so were the pastries; the design, the creativity, the taste, uniqueness, EVERYTHING.

I also ordered a Frozen S’mores which was very unassuming at first.  Upon first glance it just looked like a toasted rectangular prism of marshmallow. When I bit into it I was delighted to find some sort of creamy goodness paired with some sort of crunchy, chocolatey goodness made of mystery. After one bite I was obsessed. The other confection I ordered was a Gooseberry Pavlova. I’ve tried to make pavlova before and it was a complete FAIL!!! All I can really say is that it, blew. me. away. Each flavor set the stage for the next one. Clearly I can’t put into words the level of enjoyment I received from every bite, just know it was MAGNIFICENT.
